See what one time world’s fattest woman looks like now (photos)

Catrina Raiford was at one point the world's fattest woman and was bedridden for five years. The 38-year-old from Florida immediately embarked on a strict diet when medics had to bulldoze the side of her house to treat her breathing problems. Her diet consist only of lean meat, fruit and vegetables, and a light exercise regime. Catrina has lost 36 stone so far.
"I’m so much happier now and feel so confident. I was in bed for so long that now I’ve lost the weight I just want to be free. I love running around, going to the gym three or four times a week and keeping fit." she said
See what she used to look like after the cut...
When she was 14 years old, and weighed 32 stone, she was admitted to a psychiatric home for eight months to try and control her eating – but because she didn’t feel she could talk about the abuse with anyone, the treatment didn’t help.
By the time she was 21 she was unemployed, bedbound and living with her mum, passing her long days ‘catfishing’ men on the internet by lying about her appearance.
"It was the worst time of my life," she said. "I just wanted to die. Each day I’d just eat and go online from morning to night"
With the help of specialists, a calorie restricted diet and light exercise, she lost 21 stone naturally – after which she was able to have gastric bypass surgery. Catrina still has an extra 10 stone of loose skin she wants to shed
"Last year I bought my first bikini ever. I’m really happy with myself. I don’t want my excess skin removed for my looks. I just need the operation to help finish the process I’ve started and improve my health" - she said

The girls managed to escape the assault and the police officer allegedly turned to Peter who he pursued into his hostel, caught up with him, beat him and allegedly broke his head. And left him unconscious and in the pool of his blood.
Confirming the incident, the Acting Police Public Relations Officer for the Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the accused police officer has been summoned for questioning.

Mimiko– Nigerian Politicians are seen as vagabonds, rogues

Ondo state governor, Olusegun Mimiko says there is a perceived notion held by the public that Nigerian politicians are vagabonds and rogues. He said this today October 19th at the University of Ibadan where a book, Servicing my Fatherland, which was written by former Minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, was presented to the public.
“I am here because I am excited about the personality of Prof. Adeniran, not only as an intellectual but also as a politician. It is important for the intellectuals in politics to document their experience.
There is this demonic characterization of politicians in Nigeria. Politicians are seen as vagabonds, rogues and so on. The only way to stop this and correct this impression is for those who have served to document their experience in politics so that Nigerians will also know that there are still many men of honor in politics, people who offer selfless service to their fatherland. I am looking forward to reading this book and I will recommend it to Nigerians. Many intellectuals are armchair critics but it is very important to have intellectuals, who have taken part in politics. They must have gone through everyday challenges that politicians face so they will know that it is possible to mix the two. Every politician does not have to be an intellectual but every politician must drink from the knowledge of intellectuals like Prof. Adeniran.”he said

Transgender woman posts suicide note on Facebook shortly before taking her life.

Ashley Hallstrom, a 26-year-old transgender woman from Logan, Utah, Ashley Hallstrom posted a plea on Facebook on Wednesday, October 14, calling for people to help change the stigma surrounding transgender communities. She then took her own life by stepping into the path of an oncoming dump truck on a highway. Logan, Utah police said they believe that the act was intentional.
"According to witnesses and information that we gathered on the scene, it appears that the pedestrian had jumped in front of that northbound vehicle," Capt. Tyson Budge said in a statement. "Evidence at the scene gave every indication that the driver had attempted to swerve and brake, to avoid the collision but was unable to do so" Budge added.
See the suicide note Hallstrom wrote on her Facebook wall before killing herself, after the cut...
These are going to be my final words. I can't stand to live another day, so I'm committing suicide. The reason why I've decided to do this is because I'm transgender. For those of you that unsure of what that means, it means that even though I was born in a male body, I am and have always been female. I've known I was female for as far back as I can remember. This caused me to become severely depressed from a very young age. From a very young age I was told that people like me are freaks and abominations, that we are sick in the head and society hates us. This made me hate who I was. I tried so hard to be just like everyone else but this isn't something you can change.
It wasn't until I was 20 that I found out I wasn't alone. I had hope that I would finally be able to live as and love who I am. I finally came out as transgender and began transitioning. For the first time in my life I could say I was genuinely happy. Despite this huge change in my life I never completely got over the depression being trans caused me. Everywhere I'd turn I'd see the hated that society had for us. I had already been poisoned by a society that didn't understand us and, even worse, didn't want to even try. I saw the pain it caused to people like me and going though this same hurt myself it has just become to much for me to take anymore. I wanted so much to help those going though what I had to because nobody should ever have to feel that they hate their life so much that they want to end it all just so they won't have to experience another moment of this sadness. I'm not the first to feel this way and sadly I know I won't be the last.
I'm writing all of this because I've need my story to be shared. I don't want to be just another number of a tragic statistic. People need to know that I'm not just another face of someone they never met. I was alive. I have a family and friends that I love very much and I'm so sorry to them for the hurt this will cause them. I loved being around those that I love. I loved listening to music and singing. I loved going out to eat with friends and enjoying good food. I was a real person. I still want to help people and I believe I still can. Please share my final words. I believe my last words can help make the change that society needs to make so that one day there will be no others like me. Please help make this change because trans people are everywhere. You may never know who you're hurting until it's too late. Please help fix society.
